Hog roast hire for your event in West Clandon

We provide a fully catered hog roast: we roast, our chef carves and our staff serve. If you’d rather do it yourself, we also hire out the machine. Typical bookings include wakes and Fêtes, fairs and shows, serving hog roast rolls, spit-roast lamb and coleslaw.

In a small place like West Clandon, a hog roast often goes in a field, a farmyard or a big garden. Tell us about narrow lanes or long drives, and firm, level ground matters most. Everything we need to roast, carve and serve comes with us, and we leave the spot tidy when we go.

Why a carved hog roast beats a buffet

Compared with a plated meal, a hog roast does not need a kitchen, which often makes it better value. UK price guides vary widely: roughly £10 a head for a simple roll, rising past £20 with more included. We quote every event individually, with everything listed.

Why book with us

  • Crackling for everyone who wants it
  • An itemised quote
  • Timed around your day
  • Staff to serve, so you don’t have to

Take a look at how we price or what a hog roast costs.

What we serve, dish by dish

Halloumi and vegetable skewers (V)

Some guests will be vegetarian, so halloumi and vegetable skewers make sure they’re not left with just salad.

Stuffing and apple sauce

A spoonful of apple sauce and a slice of stuffing make the roll.

Questions from West Clandon

We are gathering after a service at Church of St Peter and St Paul: can you cater?

Yes, at a nearby hall, home or venue with room to cook outside. Churches rarely have space for a hog roast, so the food is usually elsewhere. Send us the address.

How far is West Clandon from London?

Roughly 24 miles from the centre of London, and well within our area.

What comes with the hog roast?

Pork, stuffing, apple sauce and crackling in a soft roll. Your quote lists any sides and extras.

Does the roaster have to be outside?

No, the roast is always cooked outdoors under cover, at a safe distance from walls and tents. Serving inside is often possible, with the venue’s agreement.

Can we just hire the roaster?

DIY machine hire is available. We’ll explain what’s supplied and how it works when we quote.

What if things run late?

We work back from when you want to eat, and a cooked roast can be held for a while if things run late.

Do you bring plates?

Plates are included. You can upgrade to china if you prefer.

What space does the roaster need?

Roughly the footprint of a gazebo or two, on level ground, away from buildings, marquee walls and overhanging trees. We’ll confirm the space with your quote.

Allergies and dietary needs

You’ll get allergen information for everything we serve. To make the most of it:

  • If anyone needs halal food, plan a separate option
  • Count anyone who does not eat pork, so we can bring lamb, chicken or vegetarian options
  • Tell us about vegetarians and vegans for the halloumi skewers and vegan option
  • Put the menu on the invitation

Everything for serving comes with us, so all you need is the space.

China crockery is available on request, quoted separately.

Full catering or machine hire?

We also hire out the hog roast machine for confident cooks. You cook and carve it yourself; we will explain what’s supplied and how it works when we quote.

You could roast a hog yourself, but it is a long day’s work, from early set-up to carving at the end. A catered hog roast means you can enjoy the day.

The process

Carving is part of the show: our chef carves the pork in front of the queue, with crackling for everyone who wants it. In West Clandon, the sun sets at about 9:20pm in late June and about 7:05pm in late September, so summer evening service is usually in daylight. In December it is dark by about 3:55pm, so the cooking and serving area needs lighting.

  1. It starts with your date, venue, numbers and serving time.
  2. We check the date and the cooking area, then send a quote.
  3. On the day we arrive hours before serving and start the roast under cover.
  4. Our chef carves to order and our staff serve at the agreed time.
  5. We pack everything away when everyone has eaten.

Before we arrive

  • Ask about allergies and dietary needs beforehand
  • Pick a flat, open area outside for cooking
  • Confirm numbers ahead of the day
