A hog roast near Leamouth

Party hog roast in Leamouth, slow-roasted on site

After a christening near Leamouth, a hog roast in the garden feeds the whole family, without anyone stuck cooking. We are often asked to cater street parties and retirement celebrations, serving apple sauce, a vegan burger or sausage and coleslaw.

Most parties in Leamouth are at home, and in London that means getting the roaster into the garden. If there is no side gate, tell us about rear access or a front garden. A photo helps. Plates come as standard, and china crockery is available on request, quoted separately.

Should I cook it myself?

Roasting a whole hog yourself is possible, but it takes hours of attention, from setting up and lighting the roaster to carving. With us catering, you get to be a host, not a cook.

A DIY hog roast suits a relaxed party where someone enjoys cooking. For weddings and bigger events, a catered roast is normally easier.

What happens on the day

Slow roasting is the whole point: the meat cooks gently until it’s tender while the skin crisps into crackling. Then it rests briefly before our chef carves. In Leamouth, late May sunsets come at about 8:50pm and midsummer ones at about 9:20pm, so most summer parties eat in daylight. After about 3:55pm in December, we need light to carve.

  1. You tell us the date, your address, rough numbers and when you’d like to eat.
  2. We check the date and the garden or drive, then send a quote.
  3. On the day we arrive hours ahead and start the roast under cover.
  4. When it is time to eat, the chef carves and we serve.
  5. We clear up and pack away.

Getting ready for the day

  • Give us a contact number for the day
  • Think about shelter for your guests
  • Pick a flat, open area outside for cooking

FAQs for Leamouth

We’re gathering after a service at Church of St Luke: can you cater?

Yes, at a home, hall or venue nearby with an outdoor spot for the roaster. Churches rarely have space for a hog roast, so the food is typically elsewhere. Send us the address.

Can you get a hog roast into a London garden in Leamouth?

Often, if there is a rear gate, a front garden or a yard we can use. Tell us about steps, gates and parking and we will advise.

Can we hire the hog roast machine for our party?

If you are happy to roast and carve, yes. Catering is the easier option.

Do you come to Leamouth?

Yes. We cover London and the South East, including Leamouth and Greater London. Send us the address for a quote.

Can you do a hog roast in our back garden?

Often, yes, if there’s a level spot away from the house and trees, and a way to wheel the equipment through. A photo helps.

Is crockery included?

Plates come as standard. If you’d like china, ask and we’ll add it to the quote.

Can the hog roast be cooked indoors?

It cooks outside, under a gazebo, on a level spot. Serving indoors is typically fine if the venue is happy.

Can you roast in the rain?

We roast under cover, so the food is not affected. Plan somewhere sheltered for eating.

What affects the price in Leamouth

Every booking is priced individually, based on a few main things:

  • The menu and extras such as lamb or chicken
  • Season and day of the week
  • The serving time and how long we’re on site
  • Distance from us

Distance is part of the price: travel is included in your quote. Tell us the exact address for an accurate figure.

What to tell us

These are the details we need:

  • What the outdoor space is like
  • Rules from the venue or landowner
  • Dietary requirements
  • An estimate of numbers

Numbers not final yet? Give us your best estimate and we’ll quote on that, and you can confirm nearer the time. Fill in our quote form.

Space, access and the venue

A good cooking spot makes the day run smoothly. Look for:

  • Neighbours warned about the smell
  • Clearance from walls, fences and overhanging branches
  • A level patio, lawn or driveway
