How we price a hog roast for your party

We do not use a fixed price list, because every party is different. What matters most:

  • Crockery choices
  • The serving time and how long we are on site
  • The number of people
  • Which meats and sides you choose

When comparing prices, compare the same things: the menu, sides, service time, staffing, crockery and travel. A cheaper headline price can leave things out.

What to tell us

Here’s what we’ll ask:

  • An estimate of numbers
  • Which meats and sides you’d like
  • The date and time of the event
  • Dietary requirements

We price every booking individually, because numbers, menu, serving time and travel vary. Ask us for a quote for your party: fill in our quote form.

How our party hog roast works in Victoria

Hosting a party means juggling everything at once. A hog roast takes the food off your list: we roast, carve, serve and clear. Whether it’s ruby, golden and diamond anniversaries and engagement parties, we can cook apple sauce, rotisserie chicken and coleslaw for your guests.

Most parties in Victoria are at home, and in London that means getting the roaster into the garden. With no side passage, a rear gate or front garden may work. A picture helps. Everything we need to roast, carve and serve comes with us, and we pack away and leave the area as we found it.

Organising for someone else?

Venues frequently have rules for outside caterers, including where gas cooking is allowed. Check early, and tell us what they ask for.

For events on land you don’t own, such as a park or field, you’ll need the landowner’s permission for cooking and vehicles. Sort that first.

The process

We work to your timings. If things run late, we can hold the cooked roast for a while before carving, so tell us as soon as plans change. Autumn parties in Victoria get dark early: about 7:05pm by late September and 3:55pm by December. Plan lights for the path and the food.

  1. Show us the garden or drive.
  2. We confirm it works and send a quote.
  3. We cook for hours on site.
  4. Our staff serve rolls and sides.
  5. We clear up so you don’t have to.

Preparing for the day

  • Confirm numbers ahead of the day
  • Let us know about tight access
  • Check there is nothing overhead or close by that could catch the heat

What the cooking area needs

A hog roast cooks outdoors for hours, so the spot matters, so a few things are worth checking:

  • A side gate or passage wide enough to wheel the equipment
  • A level spot in the garden, on the patio or drive
  • A word with the neighbours

As a London location, Victoria is inside the Ultra Low Emission Zone, and access takes planning: tell us about side or rear access, steps and parking for our vehicle.

If in doubt, send us a picture of the spot and we will advise.

Diets, allergies and alternatives

Most people love a hog roast, but it is pork. Some ways to look after everyone:

  • Halal isn’t offered, so arrange it separately if needed
  • Keep the vegetarian option labelled
  • Give us numbers for vegetarians and vegans
  • Add a dietary question to the invite

We set up in the agreed spot, so the party carries on around us.

Rotisserie chicken is popular at family parties.

Is a hog roast right for your party?

Compared with a barbecue, no one gets stuck at the grill, and everyone eats together. Travel matters for the price: travel is included in your quote. Give us the address so the quote is accurate.

Why book with us

  • Salads, potatoes and coleslaw to go with it
  • Crackling for everyone who wants it
  • Staff to serve, so you do not have to
  • We bring everything to cook and serve

Victoria: your questions answered

What if our house in Victoria has no side access?

Frequently, if there is a rear gate, a front garden or a yard we can use. Send us a picture and we’ll tell you honestly.

We’re gathering after a service at St. Michael's Church: can you cater?

Yes, at a home, hall or venue nearby with an outdoor spot for the roaster. Food is typically served at the reception venue rather than the church. Tell us where you’ll gather.

Do you leave the area tidy?

Our staff clear the serving area, and we take our equipment with us.

Do you cover Victoria?

We do. Tell us the venue or postcode and we’ll check the date.

How far ahead should we book?

As early as you can for summer weekends and December. Quieter dates can often be booked at shorter notice. Send your date and we’ll check.

How do we prepare?

Just the agreed spot and a contact on the day. We bring the roaster, cover and serving kit.

Is crockery included?

We supply plates as standard. China is available at an extra cost.

What do people get?

The classic: pork in rolls with stuffing, apple sauce and crackling. Your quote lists any sides and extras.

Should I cook it myself?

Buying in a cold buffet is another option, but hot, freshly carved roast pork is a different experience, especially outdoors.

Roasting a whole hog yourself is possible, but it takes hours of attention, from early set-up to carving at the end. A catered hog roast means you can enjoy the day.

What we serve, dish by dish

Roast pork

We carve as we serve, so it stays hot and juicy.

Crackling

Long, slow roasting turns the skin into crackling, and we break it up so everyone gets a piece.

  • Cooked where you are, slowly, over several hours outdoors
  • Freshly carved pork with crackling, stuffing and apple sauce
  • Vegetarian and vegan choices, plus lamb or chicken if you like
  • Staff to serve at the agreed time, then clear away
