Wedding hog roast in Chapel Row, carved to order
For the wedding breakfast, a hog roast becomes a plated meal: carved pork with salads, new potatoes or roast potatoes, on china if you’d like. On the menu are new potatoes, rotisserie chicken and salads, and we’re regularly asked to cater second-day get-togethers and farm weddings.
There is something special about a country wedding near Chapel Row, and slow-roasted pork carved for guests adds to it. Plan firm ground and a route for our vehicle. We plan the timings around your day, because the roast has to start hours before you eat.

What to look for in a quote
- How they handle allergens and dietary needs
- Which meats, sides and extras are included
- Arrival time and how long the roast needs
- A clear list of what’s included
Prices and what affects them
Each booking is quoted on its own, based on a few main things:
- How easy it is to reach the spot
- The date and time of year
- How long the roast and service take
- Travel to Chapel Row
What you pay covers the meat, the chef and staff, and hours of roasting. Slow roasting means we are on site for much of the day, and the quote reflects that.
Details that help
These are the details we need:
- Any venue rules
- Roughly how many people
- The date and time of the event
- Where the roaster could go, ideally with a photo
When you are weighing up caterers, ask each one exactly what’s included. Ours lists it clearly. To get yours, send us your details through our quote form.
Is a hog roast right for your wedding?
If your venue does its own catering, ask whether outside caterers are allowed for evening food. Some venues charge a fee. When comparing prices, compare the same things: menu, sides, serving time, staff, plates and travel. The cheapest quote is not always the best value.
Why us?
- An itemised quote
- Carved by our chef in front of your guests
- Lamb, chicken and vegetarian options alongside
- The classics: stuffing, apple sauce and crackling

Questions from Chapel Row
We’re gathering after a service at Douai Abbey Church: can you cater?
Yes, at a nearby hall, home or venue with room to cook outside. Food is normally served at the reception venue rather than the church. Send us the address.
How far is Chapel Row from London?
Roughly 47 miles from the centre of London, and well within our area.
Is a hog roast enough for a wedding?
With sides, it’s a full wedding breakfast; for evening food, rolls are normally enough.
How soon do you get booked up?
As early as you can for summer weekends and December. Quieter dates can often be booked at shorter notice. Send your date and we will check.
What if it rains?
We cook under a gazebo, so rain is not a problem for the roast. A marquee, hall or barn for eating makes all the difference.
How much will it be?
It depends on numbers, the menu and how long we’re on site. Tell us your date and we’ll send a price.
Can we have both pork and lamb?
Of course: lamb and pork together give guests a choice.
Where does the hog roast go?
A level, open area outdoors with room for the roaster, a gazebo and a carving table, away from buildings, marquee walls and overhanging trees. We’ll confirm the space with your quote.

How it works
It is a relaxed, well-organised set-up. Arrival and serving times are agreed beforehand, use the cooking spot you’ve chosen, and get on with roasting and serving. At a December wedding in Chapel Row, it is dark by about 4:00pm, so plan a lit path from the party to the food, while a June wedding has light until about 9:25pm.

Planning help
Planners, venues and businesses
For venues and planners, we are happy to work alongside your team, sharing timings and a site plan.
Some venues charge a fee if you bring in your own caterer, so it is worth asking first. We’ll liaise with them on access and set-up.
DIY versus a catered hog roast
We also hire out the hog roast machine for confident cooks. You cook and carve it yourself; we’ll confirm what comes with it when you ask.
The hardest part of a DIY hog roast is timing: a big roast takes hours and must be cooked thoroughly. If you’d rather not worry about it, let us cook.
- Cooked where you are, slowly, over several hours outdoors
- Carved by our chef into rolls with stuffing, apple sauce and crackling
- Lamb, chicken and vegetarian options alongside the pork
- Served by our staff at the time you choose, then cleared away
