Wedding hog roast in Eastcote

About our wedding hog roast in Eastcote

Your venue and we agree the cooking spot and timings well before the day, so nothing is left to chance. Whether it is garden weddings at home and the main wedding meal, we will put together a menu of crackling, halloumi skewers and rotisserie chicken and more.

London weddings around Eastcote often mean a reception at a hired venue, a pub with a garden or a family home. The roaster needs an outdoor spot under cover, away from the building, so check with the venue early. Our staff serve and clear, so you are not left handing out rolls or tidying up afterwards.

What we serve, dish by dish

Rolls and gluten-free rolls

We can serve in rolls or on plates, and gluten-free rolls are available on request.

Salads, potatoes and coleslaw

Sides include salads, coleslaw, new potatoes and roast or jacket potatoes, to suit your event.

What the cooking area needs

Most gardens, car parks, yards and fields work if a few things are right. Here’s what helps:

  • A safe distance from marquee walls, buildings and trees
  • A route to wheel equipment to the spot
  • Power for lights in the evening

As a London location, Eastcote is inside the Ultra Low Emission Zone, and access takes planning: let us know how we reach the cooking spot and where we can park.

If you’re unsure, send a picture of the space and the way in, and we’ll say what we think.

Eastcote: your questions answered

Can you do a hog roast in Eastcote House Gardens?

Only if the landowner, typically the council, allows it. Check with them first.

We’re gathering after a service at St Lawrence: can you cater?

Yes, at a nearby hall, home or venue with room to cook outside. Food is normally served at the reception venue rather than the church. Send us the address.

Who serves?

Our chef carves and our staff serve, and we clear up when service is finished.

Is crockery included?

We supply plates as standard. You can upgrade to china if you prefer.

Where will the roaster go at our wedding?

The roaster stays outdoors on level ground.

How big a hog will we need?

We size the roast to your numbers, so tell us your best estimate. The quote sets it out.

What space does the roaster need?

Roughly the footprint of a gazebo or two, on level ground, away from buildings, marquee walls and overhanging trees. We’ll check it with you before booking.

How much will it be?

Numbers, menu and travel decide the price. Send us the details and we will quote.

Prices and what affects them

The biggest factors are:

  • Numbers
  • Which meats and sides you choose
  • The serving time and how long we are on site
  • The journey to the venue

Cost depends on numbers, menu choices and service time, plus travel and access. Every booking is different, which is why each one gets its own quote.

What to tell us

Good details mean a good quote. Please include:

  • Any extras, such as lamb, chicken or china
  • The date and when you’d like to eat
  • Roughly how many people
  • The address or postcode

Busy weekends book up early, especially summer Saturdays and December Fridays. Tell us your date and we will check it: fill in our quote form.

Is a hog roast right for your wedding?

Some couples have a formal meal and a hog roast in the evening; others make the hog roast the main meal. Published UK guides give a wide range for hog roast catering, from around £10 a head for a basic roll to £20 or more with sides and service. We quote every event individually, with everything listed.

What you get with us

  • A clear quote with everything listed
  • Serving and clearing done for you
  • Lamb, chicken and vegetarian options alongside
  • Fresh carving at the serving station

The process

When we arrive, we position the roaster under cover and get the hog cooking. From there it cooks low and slow for hours, worked back from your serving time. For a summer wedding in Eastcote, the sun sets at about 9:25pm in late June and about 7:05pm in late September, which means an evening hog roast is normally served in daylight in high summer. Later in the year, plan lighting: in December it’s dark by about 3:55pm.

  1. Tell us whether it is the wedding breakfast, the evening or both.
  2. We send a quote with the menu and staffing.
  3. We confirm the cooking spot and access with the venue.
  4. We set up and roast for hours.
  5. We carve and serve, then clear away.

Getting ready for the day

  • Ensure we can wheel the roaster to the spot
  • Measure the narrowest gate or passage
  • Keep the spot clear of buildings, marquee walls and overhanging branches

How to compare hog roast caterers

Full catering or machine hire?

A barbecue is the other obvious choice, but someone ends up cooking in batches all afternoon. A hog roast cooks in one go and is carved for everyone.

You could roast a hog yourself, but it is a long day’s work, from setting up and lighting the roaster to carving. With us catering, you get to be a host, not a cook.

Planners, venues and businesses

Organisers may ask for documents such as a risk assessment or gas safety information. Let us know what your event requires and we will confirm what we can provide.

Venues frequently have rules for outside caterers, from approved lists to where a gas roaster can go. Check early, and pass on anything they need from us.

  • Cooked where you are, slowly, over several hours outdoors
  • Carved by our chef into rolls with stuffing, apple sauce and crackling
  • Lamb, chicken and vegetarian options alongside the pork
  • Served by our staff at the time you choose, then cleared away
