Wedding hog roast for North Stoneham
Wedding hog roast in North Stoneham, slow-roasted on site
We work with your venue on the cooking spot, timings and access, so nothing is left to chance. Whether it is home weddings and second-day get-togethers, we can cook new potatoes, spit-roast lamb and carved roast pork and more.
There’s something special about a country wedding near North Stoneham, and a whole hog roasting through the afternoon adds to it. Plan a firm route in, especially if it rains. The carving happens right in front of your guests, so the pork is hot and the crackling is crisp, and nothing sits in a hot cabinet.
Questions from North Stoneham
Is North Stoneham too small for a hog roast?
No, we come to small places too. Let us know about access and the cooking spot.
We are gathering after a service at St. Nicolas' Church: can you cater?
Yes, at a nearby hall, home or venue with room to cook outside. Churches rarely have space for a hog roast, so the food is normally elsewhere. Tell us where you’ll gather.
What comes with the hog roast?
Rolls with roast pork, stuffing, apple sauce and crackling. Extras include lamb, chicken, halloumi skewers, a vegan option, salads and potatoes.
What happens in bad weather?
We cook under a gazebo, so rain is not a problem for the roast. A marquee, hall or barn for eating makes all the difference.
How much room do you need?
A level, open area outdoors with room for the roaster, a gazebo and a carving table, well clear of walls, tents and branches. We’ll check it with you before booking.
Do you do DIY hog roast hire?
We do, if you’re happy to roast and carve yourself. Ask and we will talk you through it.
What about guests who don’t eat pork?
We can add lamb or chicken, plus halloumi skewers for vegetarians and a vegan burger or sausage. Halal meat is not something we offer.
Do you offer gluten-free rolls?
We can supply gluten-free rolls on request. We will give you full allergen information for every dish.
What we serve, dish by dish
Rolls and gluten-free rolls
A hog roast roll is designed to be eaten in the hand. We can bring gluten-free rolls if you ask.
Crackling
Crackling takes hours to get right, which is exactly what a slow hog roast gives it.

How the day works
On the day, we position the roaster under cover and get the hog cooking. It then roasts slowly for several hours, worked back from your serving time. In North Stoneham, midsummer sunset is about 9:25pm, and by late September it’s nearer 7:10pm, so evening food is often carved in daylight in June and July. For autumn and winter weddings, when it is dark by about 4:00pm in December, plan lighting at the carving station.
- We start with your date, venue, numbers and running order.
- We check the venue’s rules and the date, then send a quote.
- We agree arrival, cooking spot and serving times with you and your venue.
- We cook through the day and serve right on cue.
- Our staff clear the serving area and we leave quietly.
Before we arrive
- Think about shelter for your guests

How we price a hog roast for your wedding
A few things make the biggest difference to the price:

- Distance from us
For larger numbers, a hog roast is generally good value, since one roast goes a long way. Extras, china and longer service add to it.
What we need to know
Here’s what we’ll ask:
- The venue or postcode
- A photo of the cooking area
- The date and when you’d like to eat
- Your menu choices
Every wedding is quoted on its own, based on numbers, menu, timings and distance. Ask us for a quote for your wedding: fill in our quote form.
Full catering or machine hire?
We also hire out the hog roast machine for confident cooks. You do the roasting and carving; we will explain what’s supplied and how it works when we quote.
DIY hire works best when someone in the family loves cooking. For weddings and bigger events, a catered roast is generally easier.

We give full allergen information for every dish. To make the most of it:
- Share the menu with your venue coordinator
- Give us vegetarian and vegan numbers
- Count non-pork eaters, so we can add lamb, chicken or vegetarian options

On your wedding day, the food should look after itself. We roast through the afternoon and carve at the agreed time.
China crockery can be added for the wedding breakfast, as an extra.
- Roasted slowly at your venue, outdoors and under cover
- Our chef carves the pork, with stuffing, apple sauce and crackling on the side
- Vegetarian and vegan choices, plus lamb or chicken if you like
- Staff to serve at the agreed time, then clear away
