Wedding hog roast in Preston
Wedding hog roast in Preston, carved to order
Barn, marquee and garden weddings around Preston suit a hog roast. We cook outside, under cover, and serve inside where the venue allows. Typical bookings include late-night wedding food and home weddings, serving carved roast pork, halloumi skewers and rotisserie chicken.
Couples in Preston frequently hold the reception at a local venue or at home. We need an outdoor cooking area clear of the venue, which many London venues can’t offer, so ask early. Everything we need to roast, carve and serve comes with us, and we pack away and leave the area as we found it.

Step by step
On the day, we set up the roaster on the agreed spot, put the cover up and start the roast. It then roasts slowly for several hours, worked back from your serving time. Golden-hour photos in Preston at midsummer come around 9:20pm, which helps us time evening food around your photos. Sunset is around 8:55pm in late May and 7:05pm in late September.
- We start with your date, venue, numbers and running order.
- We check the venue and the cooking spot and send a price.
- We fit our timings around your running order and the venue.
- We roast during the ceremony and drinks, then carve at the agreed time.
- Afterwards we tidy our area and leave you to the party.

Is a hog roast right for your wedding?
Next to a cold buffet, hot rolls carved to order go down much better. Adding lamb, chicken, extra sides or china changes the price, so we list each one in the quote. A simple menu keeps the cost down.

Preston: your questions answered
What’s the nearest station to Preston?
The closest is South Kenton station, roughly 0.6 miles away.
What if our house in Preston has no side access?
Frequently, if there’s a rear gate, a front garden or a yard we can use. Tell us about steps, gates and parking and we will advise.
What happens in bad weather?
We cook under a gazebo, so rain isn’t a problem for the roast. Somewhere covered for people to eat helps.
How big a hog will we need?
We plan quantities from the numbers you give us, and we will talk it through when we quote.
Can a hog roast be our wedding breakfast?
Yes. We serve it on plates with salads and potatoes, with china available, and our staff serve your guests.
Do you clear up?
We clear the serving area and pack away, leaving the spot as we found it.
Do we need extra food?
For the main meal, add sides such as salads and potatoes; in the evening, rolls on their own work well.
What space does the roaster need?
A level, open area outdoors with room for the roaster, a gazebo and a carving table, away from buildings, marquee walls and overhanging trees. We will check it with you before booking.
Should I cook it myself?
Some hosts try a barbecue instead, but someone has to stand at the grill all day. A hog roast cooks in one go and is carved for everyone.
DIY hire works best when someone in the family loves cooking. For weddings and bigger events, a catered roast is usually easier.
Looking after everyone
Some guests will not eat pork, so plan an alternative. Helpful tips:
- Note which guests do not eat pork, for lamb, chicken or a vegetarian choice
- Stuffing normally contains gluten, so check the allergen list
- Give final numbers in good time
- Give us vegetarian and vegan numbers
If speeches overrun or the band starts late, we adjust. Your coordinator can keep us posted.
Choose sides to make it a full meal.
For planners, venues and organisers
Marquee hire companies often have rules about cooking near their tents, so let them know about the roaster. We will keep the roaster well clear of the marquee.
If the event is on someone else’s land, you will need the landowner’s permission for cooking and vehicles. Sort that first.
Why choose wedding hog roast in Preston?
No kitchen is needed at the venue, which suits marquees, barns and gardens.
However big or small the event in Preston, a hog roast feeds a crowd well. We are often asked to cater:
- Weddings in a marquee
- Garden weddings at home
- Barn and farm weddings
- Blessings and renewals
Preston Park can make a pretty photo stop, but check its rules for wedding groups first.

What the cooking area needs
A hog roast cooks outdoors for hours, so the spot matters, so a few things are worth checking:
- Lighting for evening service
- Serving inside the marquee or barn if allowed
- A level, open cooking spot outside the marquee or barn
As a London location, Preston is inside the Ultra Low Emission Zone, and access takes planning: tell us about side or rear access, steps and parking for our vehicle.
Not sure about the cooking spot? Send us a photo and we’ll tell you honestly before you book.
