Wedding hog roast for St George's Hill

Wedding hog roast in St George's Hill, carved to order

After hours of dancing, guests are hungry. Rolls with roast pork and crackling are just the thing, and they’re easy to eat with a drink in hand. For evening food after the first dance and anniversary vow renewals, we can cook new potatoes, salads and halloumi skewers for your guests.

Weddings in a place like St George's Hill often feel personal: a local church, then a marquee in a garden or field. The roaster cooks a safe distance from the marquee. Let us know about access. Everything we need to roast, carve and serve comes with us, and we leave the spot tidy when we go.

Full catering or machine hire?

You could roast a hog yourself, but it is a long day’s work, from setting up and lighting the roaster to carving. A catered hog roast means you can enjoy the day.

Timing is the tricky part of roasting your own: a big roast takes hours and must be cooked thoroughly. If that sounds stressful, choose the catered option.

Common questions in St George's Hill

What’s the nearest station to St George's Hill?

The closest is Weybridge station, roughly 0.5 miles away.

Can you do a hog roast in Woburn Park?

Only if the landowner, normally the council, allows it. Check with them first, and tell us what they say.

Do we need extra food?

Quantities are based on your guest list, and we’ll confirm it in writing.

How do you work out quantities?

The roast is chosen to suit how many you’re feeding, so tell us your best estimate. We’ll confirm the menu in the quote.

What about guests who do not eat pork?

There are lamb, chicken, vegetarian and vegan options: spit-roast lamb, rotisserie chicken, halloumi and vegetable skewers or a vegan burger or sausage. We do not offer halal meat.

Do you bring plates?

We supply plates as standard. You can upgrade to china if you prefer.

Do we need our own staff?

Our chef carves and our staff serve, and we clear up when service is finished.

Can you be flexible on serving time?

Because the roast takes hours, we plan from your serving time, and a cooked roast can be held for a while if things run late.

Planning for dietary needs

Tell us about dietary needs early and we’ll help. Tips:

  • Share the menu with your venue coordinator
  • Request gluten-free rolls if needed
  • Remember that stuffing normally contains gluten
  • Note which guests do not eat pork, so we can add lamb, chicken or vegetarian options

Running late? A slow roast can wait a little. Your coordinator can keep us posted.

Gluten-free rolls can be provided for the evening food.

How the day works

The roaster cooks outdoors, on a level, open spot under cover, well clear of walls, tents and trees. We agree exactly where before the day. At midsummer, sunset in St George's Hill is about 9:20pm, which helps us time evening food around your photos. Sunset is around 8:55pm in late May and 7:05pm in late September.

  1. Share your date, venue, numbers and which meal you’d like.
  2. We check the venue and the cooking spot and send a price.
  3. Timings and the cooking spot are agreed with you and the venue coordinator.
  4. The hog roasts through the afternoon, and our chef carves on cue.
  5. Our staff clear the serving area and we leave quietly.

Why a carved hog roast beats a buffet

Compared with pizza or other evening vans, carving serves a lot of people fast. The price depends on numbers, the menu and how long we serve, along with distance and how easy the site is. There is no one-size price, which is why each one gets its own quote.

Why book with us

  • Sides to make it a full meal
  • Choices for people who don’t eat pork
  • Serving and clearing done for you

Working with your venue

Marquee suppliers normally set distances for cooking equipment, so tell them a hog roast is coming. The roaster stays a safe distance from the marquee.

For venues and planners, we can fit around your other suppliers.

  • Slow-roasted on site for hours, outdoors at your event
  • Freshly carved pork with crackling, stuffing and apple sauce
  • Not just pork: spit-roast lamb, chicken and vegetarian choices
  • Served by our staff at the time you choose, then cleared away
