Wedding hog roast in The Hyde, slow-roasted on site

Evening wedding food has one job: feed hungry dancers. Rolls with roast pork and crackling are just the thing, and they’re easy to eat with a drink in hand. Popular choices include carved roast pork, new potatoes and rotisserie chicken, and we are often booked for second-day get-togethers and home weddings.

For a wedding in The Hyde, the venue’s rules decide where a hog roast can go. Ask about a courtyard or garden, and we’ll agree the details with them. Everything is cooked on the day, at your venue, slowly, over several hours, then carved fresh for your guests.

Why choose a hog roast in The Hyde?

Compared with pizza or other evening vans, a hog roast serves a crowd quickly once carving starts. Cost depends on numbers, menu choices and service time, along with distance and how easy the site is. Every booking is different, which is why each one gets its own quote.

Your questions about a hog roast for your wedding in The Hyde

Can you cater after a service at St Matthias the Apostle church?

Yes, at a home, hall or venue nearby with an outdoor spot for the roaster. Food is usually served at the reception venue rather than the church. Send us the address.

Could you cook in West Hendon Playing Fields?

Only if the landowner, generally the council, allows it. Check with them first.

What if it rains?

We cook under a gazebo, so rain is not a problem for the roast. Somewhere covered for people to eat helps.

What about coeliacs?

Ask for gluten-free rolls and we will bring them. We’ll give you full allergen information for every dish.

How much does a hog roast cost?

Every booking is quoted individually, based on numbers, menu, service time and distance. Tell us about your wedding for a quote.

Can we just hire the roaster?

DIY machine hire is available. We will confirm what comes with it and how to use it.

Can you do our evening wedding food?

It’s one of our most popular wedding bookings. Hot pork rolls are perfect late in the evening.

Does the roaster have to be outside?

Outside, always. The food can be carried in and served indoors where the venue allows.

How the day works

We cook on a gas-fired roaster, so cooking does not depend on mains power, though a socket nearby is handy for lighting. Winter weddings in The Hyde are dark by about 3:55pm, so the route from the reception to the hog roast needs lighting.

  1. Choose the main meal, the evening food or both.
  2. We send a quote with the menu and staffing.
  3. We confirm the cooking spot and access with the venue.
  4. We set up and roast for hours.
  5. We carve and serve, then clear away.

How to prepare

  • Choose someone to meet us on arrival
  • Ask about allergies and dietary needs beforehand
  • Keep the spot clear of buildings, marquee walls and overhanging branches
