Film set catering in Catisfield
Film set catering in Catisfield, slow-roasted on site
Chicken, lamb, halloumi skewers and a vegan option cover most crews, with allergen details for everything. For countryside locations and period locations, we will put together a menu of salads, a vegan option and spit-roast lamb.
Shoots around Catisfield often use houses, farms and lanes. Tell us about the route to base. The carving happens right in front of your crew, so the pork is hot and the crackling is crisp, and nothing sits in a hot cabinet.
Before you choose a spot
The roaster needs the right spot, because it cooks outside for several hours, so a few things are worth checking:
- A level spot at base for the roaster
- A safe distance from kit
- Somewhere for crew to eat if it rains
If you’re unsure, send a picture of the space and the way in, and we’ll say what we think.
What we serve
- Vegan option (Ve)
- Rotisserie chicken
- New potatoes
- Stuffing and apple sauce
- Spit-roast lamb
- Salads
- Halloumi skewers (V)
- Hog roast rolls
What a hog roast costs
Each booking is quoted on its own, and the price depends on a few things:
- The date and time of year
- Travel to Catisfield
- Time on site
- The number of people
A hog roast is frequently good value for a crowd, because one whole roast feeds a lot of people. The menu, extras such as china and the serving time all affect the final price.
What to tell us
The more we know, the more accurate the quote. Please include:
- Any extras, such as lamb, chicken or china
- The venue or postcode
- Your date and serving time
- Allergies we should know about
Numbers not final yet? A rough figure is fine for a first quote, and you can confirm nearer the time. Use our quote form.

How the day works
On the day, we position the roaster under cover and get the hog cooking. It then roasts slowly for several hours, timed so it is ready when you want to eat. Early starts matter for a hog roast at base, and in December Catisfield is dark by about 4:00pm, so we may set up under lights.
- You send the location, date and lunch call.
- We check access to base and quote.
- Our position and arrival are agreed in advance.
- When lunch is called, we carve and serve quickly.
- We pack up and leave the base tidy.
Getting ready for the day
- Ensure we can wheel the roaster to the spot
- Ask about allergies and dietary needs beforehand
- Name a contact for the day
