Hog roast hire for Frogmore
What a hog roast costs
A few things make the biggest difference to the price:
- Numbers
- The serving time and how long we are on site
- Site access
- The date and time of year
Numbers make the biggest difference: bigger groups generally cost less per head, because the roaster, staff and travel cost much the same either way.
What to tell us
A few details help us give you an accurate quote. Here’s what’s useful:
- What the outdoor space is like
- Allergies we should know about
- Roughly how many people
- The date and when you’d like to eat
A quote from us sets out the menu, timings, staffing and what’s included, so you can compare caterers fairly. Fill in our quote form.
How our hog roast hire works in Frogmore
The format is simple and it works for almost any crowd: pork, stuffing, apple sauce and crackling in a roll, and alternatives for anyone who does not eat pork. We’re often asked to cater christmas fairs and corporate events, serving crackling, hog roast rolls and rotisserie chicken.
There may be a hall or playing field near Frogmore if the garden is small; any can host a hog roast with permission. We bring the people to serve and clear up, so nobody in your party has to serve or tidying up afterwards.

Should I cook it myself?
You could roast a hog yourself, but it is a long day’s work, from setting up and lighting the roaster to carving. A catered hog roast means you can enjoy the day.
Buying in a cold buffet is another option, but nothing beats hot pork and crackling carved in front of you, especially outdoors.
Before you choose a spot
It’s worth planning the cooking area in advance. The ideal spot has:
- A level, open spot outdoors for the roaster
- A marquee, hall or barn as a wet-weather plan
- Parking near the spot
If in doubt, send us a picture of the spot and we will advise.
From the roaster
- New potatoes
- Crackling
- Roast or jacket potatoes
- Spit-roast lamb
- Coleslaw
- Rotisserie chicken
- Hog roast rolls
- Apple sauce
- Halloumi skewers (V)
- Stuffing
- Vegan burger or sausage (Ve)
- Salads
Bringing a hog roast to Frogmore
Frogmore is about 1 mile south-west of Sandhurst, in Hampshire. We set up the roaster at gardens, car parks, yards and venues around Frogmore and the surrounding area. Frogmore is one of 683 places in Hampshire where we cater. Our nearest city page is Guildford, about 11 miles away.
If you are gathering after a service at a church like St Barnabas Church, a nearby hall or garden suits a hog roast. Thinking of a hog roast in Sandhurst Memorial Park? Cooking in a park needs the owner’s permission, usually the council’s, and many parks do not allow it.
Here we cover the GU17, GU47 and GU46 postcode area, and we can cater your event anywhere in it. Your event could be at a house on Bell Lane, Green Lane and Reading Road or the roads around them, as long as there’s somewhere outside to cook. If your venue is just outside Frogmore, we also cover Blackwater (1 mile east), Hawley (1 mile south-east), College Town (1 mile north-east), Sandhurst (1 mile north-east) and York Town (2 miles east). Larger places within reach include Basingstoke (14 miles west), Farnborough (3 miles south-east), Fleet (5 miles south-west), Aldershot (6 miles south), Alton (15 miles south-west) and Tadley (15 miles west).
Well-known places in the area include Staff College Museum (2.1 miles east) and Frimley Park Hospital (2.6 miles south-east). Green spaces nearby include Horseshoe Lake and Wildmoor Heath.
- Local schools include Frogmore Community College (0.6 miles west)
- Nearby, you will find White Swan pub (0.7 miles north)
- Local facilities include Royal Military Academy Library (1.5 miles east)
Planning for dietary needs
Not everyone eats pork, so it’s worth adding an alternative. A few pointers:
- Count anyone who does not eat pork, so we can bring lamb, chicken or vegetarian options
- Remember that stuffing normally contains gluten, so ask for the allergen list
- Add a dietary question to your invitations
- We don’t offer halal meat, so arrange that separately if it is needed
You won’t need to worry about the food on the day. We get there early, cook, carve and serve, then clear up.
We also hire out the roaster for DIY hog roasts.
The menu, dish by dish
Crackling
For many people, the crackling is the best bit: crisp, golden and full of flavour.
Rolls and gluten-free rolls
Soft rolls hold the pork, stuffing and apple sauce together, easy to eat standing up. Ask for gluten-free rolls if you need them.
Frogmore questions
We’re gathering after a service at St Barnabas Church: can you cater?
Yes, at a home, hall or venue nearby with an outdoor spot for the roaster. Food is generally served at the reception venue rather than the church. Tell us where you’ll gather.
Could you cook in Sandhurst Memorial Park?
Only with permission from the park’s owner, generally the council, and many parks don’t allow cooking. Check with them first, and tell us what they say.
What’s included?
Roast pork carved into soft rolls with sage and onion stuffing, apple sauce and crackling. You can add lamb, chicken, vegetarian and vegan options, salads, coleslaw and potatoes.
What is hog roast hire?
You choose the date, the menu and the serving time; we do the rest. Just give us an outdoor spot to cook.
Do you come to Frogmore?
Yes, Frogmore is in our area. Tell us the venue or postcode and we’ll check the date.
Do you do DIY hog roast hire?
We do, if you are happy to roast and carve yourself. Ask and we’ll talk you through it.
How much will it be?
Every booking is quoted individually, based on numbers, menu, service time and distance. Tell us about your event for a quote.
Do you bring plates?
Plates are included. You can upgrade to china if you prefer.
Why choose a hog roast in Frogmore?
Compared with a barbecue, a hog roast cooks in one go and is carved for everyone, so nobody stands at a grill all afternoon. See our guide to hog roast or barbecue. Travel matters for the price: travel is included in your quote. Give us the address so the quote is accurate.

How the day works
Rain doesn’t stop the roast, because we cook under cover. It is worth planning a sheltered place for people to eat, too. By late September, sunset in Frogmore is around 7:05pm, and at Christmas it comes at about 3:55pm. After dark, a lit path to the food makes a difference.
- You tell us the date, the address, rough numbers and when you’d like to eat.
- You get a check on the date and the spot, and a quote.
- On the day, we set up on the agreed spot and start roasting.

- We clear the serving area and pack away.
Before we arrive
- Think about shelter for your guests
