Slow-roasted pork in Mount Pleasant

A hog roast or other catering?

A hog roast has one downside: it is pork. That is why we offer lamb, chicken, halloumi skewers and a vegan option. Most of the cost is the meat, the staff and the time on site. Slow roasting means we are on site for much of the day, which is built into the price.

Why book with us

  • Our staff serve and clear
  • Halloumi skewers and a vegan option too
  • Served at the time you choose
  • The classics: stuffing, apple sauce and crackling

About our hog roast hire in Mount Pleasant

Our hog roast hire is fully catered: roasting, carving and serving are all done for you. If you’d rather do it yourself, we also hire out the machine. Whether it is festive gatherings and work summer parties, we will put together a menu of halloumi skewers, spit-roast lamb and salads for your guests.

Somewhere like Mount Pleasant, a yard or firm field frequently works. Gates, verges and soft ground are worth mentioning when you enquire. The carving happens right in front of your guests, so the pork is hot and the crackling is crisp.

About the food

Rolls and gluten-free rolls

A hog roast roll is designed to be eaten in the hand. Gluten-free rolls can be provided on request.

Roast pork

Our chef carves the pork as it’s needed, which keeps it hot and moist.

Looking after everyone

Some guests won’t eat pork, so it is worth adding an alternative. A few pointers:

  • Put the menu on the invitation
  • Add a dietary question to your invitations
  • Request gluten-free rolls for coeliac guests
  • Find out who doesn’t eat pork, so we can bring lamb, chicken or vegetarian options

If timings shift, tell us: a cooked roast can be held for a while before carving.

Gluten-free rolls are available on request.

How it works

The roaster cooks outdoors, under a gazebo on level ground, away from buildings, marquee walls and overhanging branches. We will agree the spot with you beforehand. By late September, sunset in Mount Pleasant is around 7:05pm, and in December it is nearer 3:55pm. After dark, a lit path to the food makes a difference.

  1. First, you send us your date, address, numbers and serving time.
  2. We check the date and the cooking area, then send a quote.
  3. On the day, we set up on the agreed spot and start roasting.
  4. Our chef carves to order and our staff serve at the agreed time.
  5. We clear the serving area and pack away.

Preparing for the day

  • Name a contact for the day
  • Make sure the cooking area is away from walls, tents and trees
  • Plan a step-free way in for the equipment

Your questions about a hog roast in Mount Pleasant

How far is Mount Pleasant from London?

Do you serve the food?

Our chef carves and our staff serve, and we clear up when service is finished.

  • Any venue rules sorted in advance

Not sure about the cooking spot? Send us a picture and we’ll tell you honestly.

Catered or do it yourself?

Catered or DIY? Catered means we do everything: roasting, carving, serving and clearing. With DIY hire, you do the work and save on staffing.

A barbecue is the other obvious choice, but someone has to stand at the grill all day. A hog roast cooks in one go and is carved for everyone.
