A hog roast near Euston

About our party hog roast in Euston

A hog roast makes a party at home feel special. We roast on site in Euston, then carve at the time you choose, so you’re not stuck in the kitchen. Whether it is garden parties and engagement parties, we can cook jacket potatoes, coleslaw and a vegan burger or sausage and more.

Planning a London party in Euston? A hog roast keeps you out of the kitchen, in a garden, a yard or a hired hall with outdoor space. Warn the neighbours: it roasts for hours. We bring the roaster, the cover and everything we need to cook and serve, and we leave the spot tidy when we go.

Looking after everyone

Some guests will not eat pork, so it’s worth adding an alternative. A few pointers:

  • Let us know roughly how many children
  • Check the allergen list, as stuffing normally contains gluten
  • Tell us how many vegetarians and vegans to expect
  • Ask us to label vegetarian and vegan food

Make sure the gate or side passage is open when we arrive, so we can wheel the equipment in.

Add chicken for younger or fussier guests.

A hog roast or other catering?

Hire the machine or book catering? DIY suits confident cooks and relaxed parties; catering suits bigger parties. Compare like for like: menu, sides, serving time, staff, plates and travel. The cheapest quote isn’t always the best value.

Why book with us

  • Halloumi skewers and a vegan option too
  • Our staff serve and clear
  • Fresh carving at the serving station
  • No surprises: everything in writing

Read how we price or our hog roast cost guide.

How we price a hog roast for your party

Here’s what affects the price:

  • Distance from us
  • Crockery choices
  • The date and time of year
  • The menu and extras such as lamb or chicken

Published UK guides give a wide range for hog roast catering, from around £10 a head for a basic roll to £20 or more with sides and service. Every event gets its own quote, with everything listed.

What to tell us

When you enquire, it helps to include:

  • An estimate of numbers
  • Any dietary needs or allergies
  • The date and time of the event
  • What the outdoor space is like

We price every booking individually, because numbers, menu, serving time and travel vary. Ask us for a quote for your party: send us your details through our quote form.

Step by step

Expect a calm, organised set-up. We agree arrival and serving times in advance, set up where we have agreed, and roast, carve and serve without fuss. At midsummer, it’s light in Euston until about 9:20pm, so a garden party can run well into the evening. By late September sunset is around 7:05pm, so plan festoon lights for later parties.

  1. Send us your party date, address, numbers and serving time.
  2. You get a check on the date and the cooking spot, and a quote.
  3. We set up early and get the hog roasting.
  4. When it’s time to eat, the chef carves and we serve.
  5. Afterwards we tidy up the serving area.

Before we arrive

  • Check there’s a route to wheel the equipment in, without steps
  • Think about shelter for your guests
  • Let us know about tight access

Should I cook it myself?

If you’re confident and want to save on staff, DIY machine hire is an option. You do the roasting and carving; we will confirm what comes with it when you ask.

Roasting a whole hog yourself is possible, but it takes hours of attention, from early set-up to carving at the end. With us catering, you get to be a host, not a cook.

Euston parties: what to know

Euston is about 1 mile west of St Pancras, in Greater London. Our roaster is a regular sight at parties around Euston, from gardens to fields. Euston is one of 764 towns and villages in Greater London where we cater.

For party guests on the train, London Euston station is in Euston itself. Within reach of Euston are historic houses such as Handel Hendrix House (1.1 miles south-west) and Burlington House (1.3 miles south). Grand settings like these often have strict rules on caterers, so for most parties a garden or hired hall is simpler.

Parties anywhere in NW1W, W1T and NW1 start with an outdoor spot for the roaster. Local streets include Euston Road, Duke's Road and Phoenix Road; a party on any of them works well with outdoor space and a way in. Euston sits on or near the A501 and A4200, which makes travel to your party easy. Nearby, we also cater parties in Somers Town (1 mile north), Fitzrovia (1 mile south-west), Bloomsbury (1 mile south-east), Kings Cross (1 mile north-east) and St Pancras (1 mile east). Further out, we also cater in London (3 miles south-east), Kensington (4 miles south-west), Walthamstow (6 miles north-east), Whitechapel (3 miles east), Hampstead (3 miles north-west) and Ruislip (12 miles west).

Well-known places in the area include Metropolitan Borough of Holborn (0.8 miles south-east) and Montfichet's Tower (1.6 miles south-east). Within reach you will find Primrose Hill and St. James's Park Lake.

  • Local schools include Maria Fidelis Catholic School FCJ (less than half a mile west) and St Aloysius Catholic Primary School (within half a mile north)
  • Pubs nearby include The Doric Arch pub (under half a mile north-east)
  • Local facilities include Wellcome Collection (less than half a mile south-west)

Euston: your questions answered

Can you do a hog roast in Lewis Cubitt Park?

Only if the landowner, normally the council, allows it. Check with them first.

What if our house in Euston has no side access?

It depends on access: a rear gate or yard generally works. Tell us about steps, gates and parking and we’ll advise.

What about guests who don’t eat pork?

The menu has lamb, chicken, vegetarian and vegan options. We do not provide halal meat.

Do you do DIY hire for parties?

Yes, DIY machine hire is available. We’ll talk you through it when we quote.

Can we hire the machine and cook it ourselves?

Yes, we hire out the hog roast machine. We will explain what’s supplied and how it works when we quote.

Do you bring plates and clear up?

We bring plates and clear up after service.

Is our garden suitable?

Most gardens can work, given access for the equipment. A picture helps.

Do we need a marquee for a party hog roast?

The roaster has its own cover; plan shelter for guests in bad weather.

What the cooking area needs

The right spot for the roaster makes everything easier. Look for:

  • A step-free way into the garden
  • Flat ground in the garden or on the drive
  • Parking close to the house

As a London location, Euston is inside the Ultra Low Emission Zone, and access takes planning: tell us about side or rear access, steps and parking for our vehicle.

If in doubt, send us a picture of the spot and we will advise before you book.

Organising for someone else?

Marquee suppliers generally set distances for cooking equipment, so tell them a hog roast is coming. We’ll keep the roaster well clear of the marquee.

For workplace bookings, ask your facilities team about outside caterers and gas cooking. We’ll fit in with site rules.

The menu, dish by dish

Crackling

Good crackling needs time and heat, and a whole hog roasted slowly gets it just right.

Roast pork

The hog roasts slowly for hours, so the meat is tender and juicy, and our chef carves it to order.

  • Cooked where you are, slowly, over several hours outdoors
  • Carved by our chef into rolls with stuffing, apple sauce and crackling
  • Not just pork: spit-roast lamb, chicken and vegetarian choices
  • Staff to serve at the agreed time, then clear away
