Prices and what affects them
The price comes down to:
- How many people are eating
- Crockery choices
- The date and time of year
- Access to the cooking area
Distance is part of the price: travel is included in your quote. Give us the address so the quote is accurate.
What to tell us
Good details mean a good quote. Useful details:
- The date and when you’d like to eat
- Where the event is
- Any extras, such as lamb, chicken or china
- What the outdoor space is like
Not sure how many to cater for? A rough figure is fine for a first quote, and you can confirm nearer the time. Use our quote form.
The process
On the day, we position the roaster under cover and get the hog cooking. From there it cooks low and slow for hours, timed so it is ready when you want to eat. In West End, late May sunsets come at about 8:50pm and midsummer ones at about 9:20pm, so an early-evening carve is usually in daylight. Winter parties, dark by about 3:55pm, need lights by the roaster.
- It starts with the date, the address and a rough guest list.
- You get a check on the date and the cooking spot, and a quote.
- We arrive in good time and start roasting.
- When it’s time to eat, the chef carves and we serve.
- Afterwards we tidy up the serving area.
Preparing for the day
- Plan a step-free way in for the equipment
- Check there’s nothing overhead or close by that could catch the heat
- Ask about allergies and dietary needs beforehand

FAQs for West End
Could you cook in St Anne's Churchyard?
Only if the landowner, generally the council, allows it. Check with them first, and tell us what they say.
Can you cater after a service at St Mary's Church?
Yes, at a home, hall or venue nearby with an outdoor spot for the roaster. Churches rarely have space for a hog roast, so the food is normally elsewhere. Tell us where you will gather.
Do you bring plates and clear up?
Plates come as standard and our staff clear the serving area.
Is our garden suitable?
Describe the space and the way in, and we’ll tell you if it works.
Do you need power or water?
Not to cook, because the roaster is gas-fired. Let us know what’s on site.
What’s included?
Rolls with roast pork, stuffing, apple sauce and crackling. You can add lamb, chicken, vegetarian and vegan options, salads, coleslaw and potatoes.
What about guests who don’t eat pork?
Add lamb, chicken, halloumi and vegetable skewers or a vegan option. We don’t offer halal meat.
Do children like hog roasts?
Generally, yes, so we can plan quantities.

What we serve, dish by dish
Halloumi and vegetable skewers (V)
Not everyone eats meat, so halloumi and vegetable skewers make sure they’re not left with just salad.
Rotisserie chicken
Rotisserie chicken is a simple, popular alternative to pork, turned until the skin is golden.
For event organisers in West End
If you’re planning an event on someone’s behalf, whether you are a planner, a PA or on a committee, tell us who our contact on the day will be. We will keep everyone in the loop.
Marquee hire companies often have rules about cooking near their tents, so let them know about the roaster. We will keep the roaster well clear of the marquee.
Allergies and dietary needs
Not everyone eats pork, so it is worth adding an alternative. Helpful tips:
- Keep the vegetarian option labelled
- Request gluten-free rolls
- Let us know roughly how many children
- Collect dietary needs when guests reply
We set up where we agreed and stay out of the way, leaving the garden to you and your guests.
Add coleslaw, salads and jacket potatoes to make it a full meal.

Parties in West End: homes, halls and local tips
West End is about 1 mile east of City of Westminster, in Greater London. A hog roast suits parties around West End, whatever the venue. We cover 764 places across Greater London.
Nearby historic houses include Benjamin Franklin House (under half a mile south) and Burlington House (0.6 miles south-west). For most parties, a garden or hall is easier than a historic venue with strict catering rules. If your garden is too small, local halls and clubs near West End can be an alternative, as long as there’s outdoor space for the roaster.
For parties in W1F, W1D and W1T, we just need to know where the roaster can cook and roughly how many guests. That could mean a party in a garden on Duck Lane, Drury Lane and Bridle Lane, wherever there is an outdoor spot for the roaster. With the A301 and A400 close by, West End is simple for us to get to with the roaster. Planning the cooking spot
The cooking area is the main thing to plan. A quick checklist:
- Space away from the house, fences, sheds and trees
- A wet-weather plan for guests
- Somewhere for us to park nearby
West End is in London, within the Ultra Low Emission Zone, and access can be tight: tell us about side or rear access, steps and parking for our vehicle.
If in doubt, send us a picture of the spot and we’ll advise.
