Common questions in Cadmore End
Do you cater at venues in the Chilterns National Landscape?
Yes, though some venues in protected landscapes have extra rules for caterers; ask your venue. We’ll follow the site rules.
Which station is closest to Cadmore End?
The closest is Saunderton station, roughly 3.8 miles away.
Can we have both pork and lamb?
Add lamb or rotisserie chicken as a second option.
When should we book?
Summer Saturdays and December book up first. For other dates, a few weeks can be enough. Ask and we’ll check.
What if things run late?
Within reason, we can. Keep us posted on the day and we will fit around changes.
Do you clear up?
Our staff clear the serving area, and we take our equipment with us.
Can the hog roast be for the evening?
Yes. We’ll time it around your first dance and band.
Who serves?
We carve and serve for you, and we clear up when service is finished.
Full catering or machine hire?
DIY hire works best when someone in the family loves cooking. For bigger or more formal events, catering takes the pressure off.
We also hire out the hog roast machine for confident cooks. You cook and carve it yourself; we will confirm what comes with it when you ask.
How it works
When we arrive, we set up the roaster on the agreed spot, put the cover up and start the roast. From there it cooks low and slow for hours, timed so it is ready when you want to eat. For a summer wedding in Cadmore End, the sun sets at about 9:25pm in late June and about 7:05pm in late September, which means an evening hog roast is normally served in daylight in high summer. For autumn and winter weddings, when it is dark by about 3:55pm in December, plan lighting at the carving station.
