About our wedding hog roast in Millwall
A hog roast gives your wedding a centrepiece: people gather round as the chef carves. It’s food and a bit of theatre. Whether it’s home weddings and evening food after the first dance, we’ll put together a menu of halloumi skewers, new potatoes and carved roast pork for your guests.
In Millwall, venues set rules on outside caterers and gas cooking. A courtyard, garden or yard is ideal, and we’ll work through it together. You’ll know what’s included before booking: serving times, the menu, staff and anything else agreed.

Is a hog roast right for your wedding?

What happens on the day
We arrive hours before you want to eat, since slow roasting can’t be rushed. The smell generally brings people over long before we carve. In Millwall, midsummer sunset is about 9:20pm, and by late September it’s nearer 7:05pm, which means an evening hog roast is generally served in daylight in high summer. Later in the year, plan lighting: in December it is dark by about 3:55pm.
- Tell us whether it is the wedding breakfast, the evening or both.
- We send a quote with the menu and staffing.
- The venue and we agree where the roaster goes.
- We arrive early and roast slowly on site.
- Our chef carves and the team serves and clears.
Before we arrive
- Confirm numbers ahead of the day
- Gather dietary requirements early

Questions from Millwall
Can you get a hog roast into a London garden in Millwall?
Often, if there is a rear gate, a front garden or a yard we can use. Tell us about steps, gates and parking and we’ll advise.
Which station is closest to Millwall?
The closest is Deptford station, roughly 0.8 miles away.
Do you provide china?
Plates are included. China is available at an extra cost.
How long does the roast need?
It depends on the size of the hog and the weather, but it’s several hours. You will know our arrival time in advance.
How do we prepare?
The agreed cooking area, access for our equipment and someone to meet us. We will bring the rest.
Can a hog roast be our wedding breakfast?
Many couples do exactly that, with lamb, chicken and vegetarian options alongside.
How big a hog will we need?
We plan quantities from the numbers you give us, and we’ll confirm everything in writing.
Can you be flexible on serving time?
We’ll be as flexible as we can. Keep us posted on the day and we will adjust.
Full catering or machine hire?
Some hosts try a barbecue instead, but someone ends up cooking in batches all afternoon. A hog roast cooks in one go and is carved for everyone.
We also hire out the hog roast machine for confident cooks. You do the roasting and carving; we’ll explain what’s supplied and how it works when we quote.

Prices and what affects them
Every booking is priced individually, based on a few main things:
- Distance from us
- How many people are eating
- The menu and extras such as lamb or chicken
- Plates or china
Cost depends on numbers, menu choices and service time, along with distance and how easy the site is. Every booking is different, so we quote each one individually.
What to tell us
To check the date and the space, tell us:
- Any dietary needs or allergies
- Which meats and sides you’d like
- The venue or postcode
- What the outdoor space is like
A quote from us sets out the menu, timings, staffing and what’s included, so it’s easy to compare like for like. Send us your details through our quote form.
Planning the cooking spot
Most outdoor spaces can work if a few things are right. Here’s what helps:
- A way in for the roaster
- Light near the carving station after dark
- Serving inside the marquee or barn if allowed
Millwall is in London, within the Ultra Low Emission Zone, and access can be tight: tell us about side or rear access, steps and parking for our vehicle.
