Wedding hog roast in Plaistow, carved to order

Not every guest eats pork, so we plan for that: spit-roast lamb, rotisserie chicken, halloumi and vegetable skewers and a vegan option. We do not offer halal meat. We’re frequently asked to cater weddings in a marquee and small, informal weddings, serving new potatoes, halloumi skewers and carved roast pork.

There is something special about a country wedding near Plaistow, and slow-roasted pork carved for guests adds to it. Plan firm ground and a route for our vehicle. Timings are planned around your wedding, working back from when you want to eat, so the food is ready at the right moment.

Common questions in Plaistow

Do you come out to small places like Plaistow?

No, we come to small places too. Let us know about access and the cooking spot.

Is Plaistow close to London?

Roughly 36 miles from the centre of London, and well within our area.

Do you provide china?

We bring plates as standard. China crockery is available on request and quoted separately.

Can you cook inside a hall or marquee?

It cooks outside, under a gazebo, on a level spot. The food can be carried in and served indoors where the venue allows.

Is a hog roast enough for a wedding?

Quantities are based on your guest list, and we will confirm it in writing.

What if our venue has its own caterer?

It depends on the venue. Ask your venue early, and we’ll work with them on the details.

Can the hog roast be for the evening?

It is one of our most popular wedding bookings. Hot pork rolls are perfect late in the evening.

What space does the roaster need?

Roughly the footprint of a gazebo or two, on level ground, well clear of walls, tents and branches. We’ll check it with you before booking.

Is a hog roast right for your wedding?

Next to a formal three-course meal, a hog roast is more relaxed and frequently better value. It still feels like a feast. UK price guides vary widely: roughly £10 a head for a simple roll, rising past £20 with more included. Every event gets its own quote, with everything listed.

Why book with us

  • Fresh carving at the serving station
  • The classics: stuffing, apple sauce and crackling
  • An itemised quote
  • Halloumi skewers and a vegan option too

Allergies and dietary needs

Most people love a hog roast, but it’s pork. Some ways to look after everyone:

  • If any guests need halal food, arrange it separately
  • Request gluten-free rolls if needed
  • Ask about dietary needs on your RSVP card
  • Remember that stuffing usually contains gluten, so check the allergen list

For evening food, we carve as the dancing gets going, timed with you in advance.

China crockery can be added for the wedding breakfast, as an extra.

How it works

From setting up to the last roll, we look after the food, so you can enjoy your wedding. Golden-hour photos in Plaistow at midsummer come around 9:20pm, which helps us time evening food around your photos. In late May, sunset is about 8:50pm, and in late September about 7:05pm.

  1. Tell us your date, venue and numbers.
  2. We check the venue’s rules and the date, then quote.
  3. We fit timings around your running order.
  4. We roast during the day, then carve at the agreed time.
  5. We serve, tidy up and slip away.

Planning help

Catered or do it yourself?

Catered or DIY? With catering, our chef roasts, carves and serves, and our staff clear up. With DIY hire, you do the work and save on staffing.

Roasting a whole hog yourself is possible, but it takes hours of attention, from setting up and lighting the roaster to carving. With us catering, you get to be a host, not a cook.

Working with your venue

If you’re organising for someone else, such as a wedding planner, an office manager or a fête committee, tell us who our contact on the day will be. We will keep everyone in the loop.

Event organisers often ask caterers for paperwork such as a risk assessment. Let us know what your event requires and we’ll tell you what we can send.
