Corporate hog roast in Bloomsbury

Should I cook it myself?

DIY hire works best when someone in the family loves cooking. For weddings and bigger events, a catered roast is normally easier.

Roasting a whole hog yourself is possible, but it takes hours of attention, from early set-up to carving at the end. With us catering, you get to be a host, not a cook.

About our corporate hog roast in Bloomsbury

Most teams have a set break, so the roast is timed to the minute. Rolls keep service fast. Popular choices include salads, hog roast rolls and rotisserie chicken, and we’re frequently booked for staff thank-you lunches and long-service celebrations.

For offices in and around Bloomsbury, the roaster typically goes in a car park, yard or courtyard, if the building allows gas cooking. Get facilities’ approval for gas cooking early. Timings are planned around your staff event, because the roast has to start hours before you eat.

Is a hog roast right for your staff event?

Next to a staff barbecue, everyone gets to join in. Extras such as lamb, chicken, more sides or china crockery add to the cost, so each one is itemised. A simple menu keeps the cost down.

What you get with us

  • The classics: stuffing, apple sauce and crackling
  • Served at the time you choose
  • An itemised quote
  • All the equipment comes with us

See how we price or what a hog roast costs.

Step by step

We roast under cover, so a shower will not spoil the food. Your staff will still want somewhere dry to eat, such as a marquee, hall or barn. In Bloomsbury, summer evenings stay light until about 9:20pm, so an after-work hog roast works well in summer. In late September, the light goes at about 7:05pm.

  1. You send us the site address, date, numbers and serving window.
  2. We check site access and send a price.
  3. We set up early and get the hog roasting.
  4. The team carves and serves on time.
  5. We pack away and leave the site as we found it.

Preparing for the day

  • Ensure we can wheel the roaster to the spot
  • Keep the spot clear of buildings, marquee walls and overhanging branches
  • Collect dietary needs and allergies in advance

Working with your venue

For venues and planners, we can fit around your other suppliers.

If you are organising for someone else, whether you’re a planner, a PA or on a committee, tell us who our contact on the day will be. We will keep everyone in the loop.

Space, access and the venue

Most gardens, car parks, yards and fields work if a few things are right. Here’s what we look for:

  • A named contact for the day
  • Shelter for the team
  • Access through the site gates

As a London location, Bloomsbury is inside the Ultra Low Emission Zone, and access takes planning: let us know how we reach the cooking spot and where we can park.

If you’re unsure, send a photo of the space and the way in, and we will say what we think before booking.

Frequently, if there is a rear gate, a front garden or a yard we can use. Send us a picture and we will tell you honestly.

Could you cook in Lincoln's Inn Fields?

Only with permission from the park’s owner, normally the council, and many parks do not allow cooking. Check with them first, and tell us what they say.

What about family fun days?

Open days are a great fit, with chicken and vegetarian options for visitors.

Do you offer gluten-free rolls?

Ask for gluten-free rolls and we will bring them. We’ll give you full allergen information for every dish.

Can you work to our lunch time?

Yes. We time the roast to be ready and serve quickly. Rolls keep service quick.
