Corporate hog roast for your staff event in Dulwich
Staff days in Dulwich work well with a hog roast: rolls are fast to serve and easy to eat. There are choices for people who do not eat pork. On the menu are crackling, coleslaw and hog roast rolls, and typical bookings are for end-of-project celebrations and long-service celebrations.
Around Dulwich, workplace bookings tend to use car parks, yards and courtyards. Get facilities’ approval for gas cooking early. Timings are planned around your staff event, working back from when you want to eat, so the food is ready at the right moment.

What a hog roast costs
Your quote depends on:
- Plates or china
- Access to the cooking area
- Time on site
- Which meats and sides you choose
Published UK guides give a wide range for hog roast catering, from around £10 a head for a basic roll to £20 or more with sides and service. We quote every event individually, so you know exactly what you’re paying for.
What we need to know
To check the date and the space, we’ll need:
- Where the roaster could go, ideally with a picture
- Rules from the venue or landowner
- The date and when you’d like to eat
- Which meats and sides you’d like
Send us the date, the address or SE22 postcode and rough numbers, along with your serving time. We will check the date and send a quote. Use our quote form.

Working with your venue
Many venues set rules for outside caterers, including where gas cooking is allowed. Ask early, and tell us what they ask for.
Organisers may ask for documents such as a risk assessment or gas safety information. Let us know what your event requires and we will confirm what we can provide.
A hog roast or other catering?
Compared with sandwich platters, hot carved pork feels much more special. The main driver is numbers: bigger groups usually cost less per head, since much of the cost is fixed.

Step by step
Carving is part of the show: our chef carves the pork in front of the queue, and the crackling is shared out so everyone gets some. For a staff lunch in Dulwich, daylight is not an issue, but a winter evening event is dark by about 3:55pm, so evening events need a lit cooking area. Summer events have daylight until around 9:20pm.
- Tell us where, when, how many and the serving time.
- You get a check on the date and the site, and a quote.
- On the day we set up and roast through the morning.
- Our chef carves and our staff serve to your timings.
- Afterwards we clear up and go.
Getting ready for the day
- Check there is a route to wheel the equipment in, without steps
- Name a contact for the day
- Ask about allergies and dietary needs beforehand

Dulwich: your questions answered
Can you do a hog roast in Dulwich Park?
Only if the landowner, normally the council, allows it. Check with them first, and tell us what they say.
What if our house in Dulwich has no side access?
It depends on access: a rear gate or yard normally works. Send us a picture and we’ll tell you honestly.
How big a hog will we need?
The roast is chosen to suit how many you’re feeding, so tell us your best estimate. We will confirm the menu in the quote.
Is there a non-pork option?
We can add lamb or chicken, plus halloumi skewers for vegetarians and a vegan burger or sausage. We do not provide halal meat.
Can you serve a fixed lunch break?
We plan the roast around your break. Rolls are the fastest way to serve.
Where on site can you cook?
Anywhere suitable and approved, outdoors and under cover.
Where does the hog roast go?
A flat, open spot outside, and a way to wheel everything in. A picture helps.
What happens in bad weather?
We cook under a gazebo, so rain isn’t a problem for the roast. Somewhere covered for people to eat helps.
Looking after everyone
Standard rolls and stuffing contain gluten, so ask for gluten-free rolls if you need them. Other tips:
- Keep alternatives clearly labelled
- Count anyone who doesn’t eat pork, for the alternatives
- Tell us about vegetarians and vegans
- Request gluten-free rolls
We set up on the agreed spot, frequently first thing, then roast through the morning.
If it is a themed open day, tell us and we’ll fit in.
What comes off the roaster
Roast pork
Our chef carves the pork as it is needed, so it stays hot and juicy right to the last roll.
Spit-roast lamb
With lamb as well, there are two roasts to choose from, which works well for larger groups.
Planning the cooking spot
We need room to cook safely and under cover. Before booking, check:
- Access through the site gates
- Space away from buildings, vehicles and trees
- Shelter for the team
Dulwich is in London, within the Ultra Low Emission Zone, and access can be tight: let us know how we reach the cooking spot and where we can park.
If in doubt, send us a picture of the spot and we will advise.

Catered or do it yourself?
A DIY hog roast suits a relaxed party where someone enjoys cooking. For bigger or more formal events, catering takes the pressure off.

- Roasted slowly at your venue, outdoors and under cover
- Carved to order by our chef, with stuffing, apple sauce and crackling
- Vegetarian and vegan choices, plus lamb or chicken if you like
- Served by our staff at the time you choose, then cleared away
