What affects the price in Uxbridge

A few things make the biggest difference to the price:

  • Menu choices and extras
  • Site access
  • Numbers
  • Distance from us

Numbers make the biggest difference: bigger groups generally cost less per head, because the roaster, staff and travel cost much the same either way.

Details that help

A few details help us give you an accurate quote. Here’s what’s useful:

  • Dietary requirements
  • An estimate of numbers
  • Where the roaster could go, ideally with a picture
  • The venue or postcode

Tell us your date, venue or postcode and roughly how many people, plus when you’d like to eat. We will confirm availability and send a price. Send us your details through our quote form.

How our film set catering works in Uxbridge

Crews can be big, and carving feeds a lot of people quickly. Add sides for a full meal. We serve rotisserie chicken, halloumi skewers and a vegan option, and we’re regularly asked to cater location days and base catering.

For a location shoot near Uxbridge, base might be in a field or farmyard. Tell us about dietary needs and allergies when you enquire, and we will tell you exactly what’s in each dish before you book.

The process

We cook on a gas-fired roaster, so cooking doesn’t depend on mains power; a nearby socket helps with lights if service runs into the evening. In December, daylight in Uxbridge ends around 3:55pm, so a late lunch or wrap at base needs lighting. In summer, light lasts until about 9:25pm.

  1. Send us the location, dates and lunch time.
  2. We confirm access and send a price.
  3. We set up at base and roast through the morning.
  4. We carve fast on the lunch call.
  5. We clear our spot.

Before we arrive

  • Let us know about tight access
  • Make sure we can wheel the roaster to the spot
  • Ask about allergies and dietary needs beforehand

Choosing a hog roast caterer

For planners, venues and organisers

For events on land you do not own, such as a park or field, the landowner needs to agree to cooking and vehicles. Sort that first.

If you’re booking for a workplace, ask your facilities team about outside caterers and gas cooking. We work to the site’s rules.

Common questions in Uxbridge

What’s the nearest station to Uxbridge?

West Drayton station, about 2.1 miles south of the centre.

Is Uxbridge close to London?

About 17 miles from central London.

What comes with the hog roast?

Pork, stuffing, apple sauce and crackling in a soft roll. Sides and extra meats are listed in your quote.

What happens after service?

We clear the serving area and pack away, leaving the spot as we found it.

Can you set up at the unit base?

A level outdoor spot clear of trucks and kit.

Do you provide china?

We bring plates as standard. If you’d like china, ask and we’ll add it to the quote.

Can you cater our wrap?

We do. Tell us the date and location.

How long does the roast need?

Several hours, depending on the size and the weather, which is why we arrive hours ahead. We plan the timings from when you want to eat.

Is a hog roast right for your shoot?

Compared with a full location caterer, a hog roast suits single days and smaller crews. What you pay covers the meat, the chef and staff, and hours of roasting. A long, slow roast means an early start, which is built into the price.
