Hog roast hire in UB8: what to expect
In UB8, a hog roast is an easy way to feed a lot of people: a single slow roast, carved to order. Everything comes with us, and our staff serve and clear. Popular choices include spit-roast lamb, new potatoes and salads, and we’re frequently booked for Fêtes, fairs and shows and wakes.
We roast under cover, so a shower won’t spoil the food. Your guests will still want somewhere dry to eat, such as a marquee, hall or barn.
- You share the when, where and how many.
- We look at the cooking area and send a price.
- We get the roaster going hours before you eat.
- The chef carves and the team fills rolls or plates.
- We clear up and go.
What you will pay
What you pay covers the meat, the chef and staff, and hours of roasting. A long, slow roast means an early start, and the quote reflects that.
Why hosts in UB8 choose us
- Served at the time you choose
- Roasted on site, slowly, for hours
- An itemised quote
- All the equipment comes with us
How to get a price

Around Uxbridge
Bookings here are often close to Church of St Andrew, Whitehall Junior School and Uxbridge High School. Nearby too are West Middlesex College (0.7 miles west) and Three Tuns pub (under half a mile north). The closest station to Uxbridge is West Drayton station, about 2.1 miles south. Well-known places in the area include The Chimes (under half a mile north) and Hillingdon Hospital (1.2 miles south-east). Within reach you will find Northala Fields and Uxbridge Moor.
A hog roast across UB8: what to know
UB8 covers everything from Hayes, Hillingdon and Uxbridge to 0 small villages and hamlets, and a hog roast works in all of them. Town bookings mean planning access; village bookings mean planning lanes and ground.
Uxbridge: Nearby historic houses include Ickenham Hall (2.2 miles north-east) and Northolt Manor (4.7 miles east). If your event is at a historic house or estate, check its rules on outside caterers and gas cooking early. For anyone arriving by rail, West Drayton station is about 2.1 miles away. Evenings in Uxbridge stay light until about 9:25pm in June, but by late September sunset is around 7:05pm; once it’s dark, we need light at the carving station.
What the cooking area needs
A hog roast cooks outdoors for hours, so the spot matters, and a little planning goes a long way:
- Parking near the spot
- A level, open spot outdoors for the roaster
- Access for our equipment, without steps
The menu, dish by dish
Rolls and gluten-free rolls
Rolls or plates? Rolls are quicker; plates suit a sit-down meal, with gluten-free rolls on request.
Spit-roast lamb
Spit-roast lamb cooks slowly like the hog, carved to order at the serving station.
A hog roast compared with other options
Catered or DIY? With catering we roast, carve and serve; with hire you do the cooking. For bigger events, catering is usually the easier choice.
Comparing caterers
- How they handle allergens and dietary needs
- Travel and any London charges
- When they arrive and when the food will be ready
- A clear list of what’s included
Full catering or machine hire?
The hardest part of a DIY hog roast is timing: a big roast takes hours and must be cooked thoroughly. If you’d rather not worry about it, let us cook.
Buying in a cold buffet is another option, but hot, freshly carved roast pork is a different experience.
Allergies and dietary needs
Some guests will not eat pork, so plan an alternative. Helpful tips:
- Stuffing normally contains gluten, so check the allergen information
- Ask for gluten-free rolls if anyone needs them
- Find out who does not eat pork, and order an alternative for them
- Tell us about vegetarians and vegans for the halloumi skewers and vegan option
Everything for serving comes with us, so you only need to provide the space.
Gluten-free rolls are available on request.
UB8: your questions answered
What about coeliacs?
Ask for gluten-free rolls and we’ll bring them. We will give you full allergen information for every dish.
Do you bring plates?
We bring plates as standard. China crockery is available on request and quoted separately.
How much will it be?
Numbers, menu and travel decide the price. Tell us your date and we will send a price.
What if it rains?
We roast under cover, so the food is not affected. Plan somewhere sheltered for eating.
Is there a non-pork option?
We can add lamb or chicken, plus halloumi skewers for vegetarians and a vegan burger or sausage. We don’t provide halal meat.
Can you cook inside a hall or marquee?
It cooks outside, under a gazebo, on a level spot. The food can be carried in and served indoors where the venue allows.
How soon do you get booked up?
As early as you can for summer weekends and December. Quieter dates can often be booked at shorter notice. Ask and we’ll check.
- Roasted slowly at your venue, outdoors and under cover
- Carved by our chef into rolls with stuffing, apple sauce and crackling
- Options beyond pork, including lamb, chicken and vegetarian dishes
- Served when you’re ready, and we tidy the serving area afterwards
