Hog roast hire for Ewshot
Hog roast hire for your event in Ewshot
Slow-roasted pork carved to order: that is what you get when you book a hog roast in Ewshot. The classic roll comes with stuffing, apple sauce and crackling, and you can add sides and other meats. Whether it is wedding breakfasts and evening food and festive gatherings, we can cook crackling, halloumi skewers and hog roast rolls for your guests.
In a rural place like Ewshot, roast pork in a field is hard to beat. Let us know about access and ground conditions. Let us know about allergies and dietary needs in advance, and we’ll give you the allergen information for every dish before you book.
Full catering or machine hire?
You could go for a cold buffet, but hot, freshly carved roast pork is a different experience, especially outdoors.
Roasting a whole hog yourself is possible, but it takes hours of attention, from setting up and lighting the roaster to carving. A catered hog roast means you can enjoy the day.
How we price a hog roast
We don’t use a fixed price list, since every event is different. The main factors are:
- Distance from us
- The menu and extras such as lamb or chicken
- Whether you want china
- How long the roast and service take
What you pay covers the meat, the chef and staff, and hours of roasting. Slow roasting means we are on site for much of the day, which is built into the price.
What we need to know
To check the date and the space, tell us:
- Any dietary needs or allergies
- Where the event is
- Anything the venue has asked for
- Rough numbers
Send us the date, the address or GU10 postcode and rough numbers, plus when you’d like to eat. We’ll confirm availability and send a price. Fill in our quote form.

Ewshot: your questions answered
Can you cater after a service at St Mary's Church?
Yes, at a home, hall or venue nearby with an outdoor spot for the roaster. Churches rarely have space for a hog roast, so the food is normally elsewhere. Send us the address.
Is Ewshot close to London?
Roughly 36 miles from the centre of London, and well within our area.
Can you cater for vegetarians?
We can add lamb or chicken, plus halloumi skewers for vegetarians and a vegan burger or sausage. We do not provide halal meat.
Do you provide china?
We supply plates as standard. China is available at an extra cost.
Do you serve the food?
Our chef carves and our staff serve, then clear the serving area afterwards.
How long does a hog roast take to cook?
It depends on the size of the hog and the weather, but it is several hours. You’ll know our arrival time in advance.
Does the roaster have to be outside?
Outside, always. The food can be carried in and served indoors where the venue allows.
How far ahead should we book?
As early as you can for summer weekends and December. For other dates, a few weeks can be enough. Send your date and we’ll check.
For event organisers in Ewshot
Many venues set rules for outside caterers, including where gas cooking is allowed. Ask early, and tell us what they ask for.
If you’re organising for someone else, whether you’re a planner, a PA or on a committee, tell us who our contact on the day will be. We’ll keep everyone in the loop.
What comes off the roaster
Rotisserie chicken
Rotisserie chicken is a simple, popular alternative to pork, roasted until golden.
Vegan burger or sausage (Ve)
Our vegan option is a vegan burger or sausage, in a roll, with salad on the side.
Planning for dietary needs
Some guests won’t eat pork, so it’s worth adding an alternative. Helpful tips:
- Tell guests what’s on the menu in advance
- Count anyone who doesn’t eat pork, so we can bring lamb, chicken or vegetarian options
- Ask for gluten-free rolls if anyone needs them
- If anyone needs halal food, plan a separate option
Slow roasting needs attention, and that is what we’re there for. You can relax and enjoy the day.
We can supply china instead of standard plates, quoted separately.
Planning the cooking spot
The roaster needs space, cover and a safe distance from anything that could catch the heat. Things to check:
- A safe distance from walls, tents and trees
- A level patch of lawn, patio or hardstanding
- A way to wheel the roaster to the spot
If in doubt, send us a picture of the spot and we’ll advise before booking.
From the roaster
- Vegan burger or sausage (Ve)

- Spit-roast lamb
- Halloumi skewers (V)

Why a carved hog roast beats a buffet
Next to a buffet, hot roast pork carved in front of you is a different experience. A buffet can sit out all afternoon. A hog roast is often good value for a crowd, because one whole roast feeds a lot of people. The menu, extras such as china and the serving time all affect the final price.
Why Ewshot hosts choose us
- Slow-roasted at your venue, not reheated
- Lamb, chicken and vegetarian options alongside
- Fresh carving at the serving station
- Salads, potatoes and coleslaw to go with it

How the day works
Serving is straightforward: the chef carves and the team serves, and sides go out at the same time. When everyone has eaten, we clear up and leave the spot tidy. Light matters for a long roast: in Ewshot, sunset is around 8:55pm in late May and 9:20pm in late June, while in December the light goes at about 3:55pm, so winter bookings need lighting from mid-afternoon.
- First, you send us your date, address, numbers and serving time.
- You get a check on the date and the spot, and a quote.
- We arrive well ahead, put the cover up and get the hog roasting.
- Our chef carves to order and our staff serve at the agreed time.
- Afterwards we clear up and leave the spot tidy.
Preparing for the day
- Check there’s a route to wheel the equipment in, without steps
- Collect dietary needs and allergies in advance
- Name a contact for the day
