About our party hog roast in Longlands
A party at home needs a little planning for the roaster: a level spot away from the house and trees, under cover. We will help you choose. Popular choices include a vegan burger or sausage, jacket potatoes and coleslaw, and we are often booked for close and cul-de-sac parties and family reunions.
Most parties in Longlands are at home, and in London that means getting the roaster into the garden. If there’s no side gate, tell us about rear access or a front garden. A photo helps. We bring plates as standard, and china crockery is available on request, quoted separately.

FAQs for Longlands
Can you get a hog roast into a London garden in Longlands?
It depends on access: a rear gate or yard typically works. Tell us about steps, gates and parking and we will advise.
We are gathering after a service at Christ Church: can you cater?
Yes, at a home, hall or venue nearby with an outdoor spot for the roaster. Churches rarely have space for a hog roast, so the food is normally elsewhere. Send us the address.
Can you work around our timings?
We’ll be as flexible as we can. Keep us posted on the day and we’ll adjust.
Is mains power needed?
Cooking is gas-fired, so no mains power is needed for the roast. Power can help with lighting after dark.
Can you roast in the rain?
We roast under cover, so the food isn’t affected. Your guests will want somewhere dry to eat.
Will there be enough to go round?
Quantities are based on your numbers, and we will talk it through when we quote.
What’s the price?
Every booking is quoted individually, depending on numbers, menu, timings and travel. Tell us about your party for a quote.
Do you bring plates and clear up?
We tidy the serving area.
What we serve, dish by dish
Rolls and gluten-free rolls
We can serve in rolls or on plates, and gluten-free rolls are available on request.
Crackling
Long, slow roasting turns the skin into crackling, and we break it up so everyone gets a piece.

What a hog roast costs
A few things make the biggest difference to the price:
- Numbers
- The journey to the venue
- Time on site
- Crockery choices
Most of the cost is the meat, the staff and the time on site. A long, slow roast means an early start, which is built into the price.
What we need to know
We can quote more accurately with a few details. Here’s what’s useful:
- Which meats and sides you’d like
- Anything the venue has asked for
- Where the event is
- What the outdoor space is like
To get a quote, just tell us the date, where the party is and roughly how many. A photo of the cooking area helps. Fill in our quote form.

DIY versus a catered hog roast
Full catering or machine hire? Catered means we do everything: roasting, carving, serving and clearing. With hire only, you do the cooking yourself.
You could go for a cold buffet, but hot, freshly carved roast pork is a different experience, especially outdoors.
The process
We get there well ahead of service, since slow roasting cannot be rushed. The smell normally brings people over long before we carve. Sunset in Longlands is about 8:50pm in late May and 9:20pm in late June, so most summer parties eat in daylight. After about 3:55pm in December, we need light to carve.
- Show us the garden or drive.
- We check the space and quote.
- On the day, we roast slowly under cover.
- We serve when you are ready.
- We leave the garden tidy.
Preparing for the day
- Give us a contact number for the day
- Give us final numbers a week or so before
- Check there’s nothing overhead or close by that could catch the heat
