A hog roast near Hammersmith

How our corporate hog roast works in Hammersmith

A corporate hog roast feeds a team without anyone leaving site. We roast on site in Hammersmith through the morning and serve at your lunch break. Whether it is new premises openings and team days and away days, we’ll put together a menu of crackling, salads and spit-roast lamb for your staff.

London work events in Hammersmith often run to a tight lunch break, so we plan the roast and service around it. Tell us about site access and security. Everything is cooked on the day, at your venue, slowly, over several hours.

Is a hog roast right for your staff event?

If it’s for clients, choose china, sides and lamb or chicken to make it more formal. Adding lamb, chicken, extra sides or china changes the price, so we list each one in the quote. A simple menu keeps the cost down.

Why us?

  • Fresh carving at the serving station
  • Self-contained: roaster, cover and serving kit
  • Timed around your day
  • Choices for people who do not eat pork

Questions from Hammersmith

Can you do a hog roast in Brook Green?

Only with permission from the park’s owner, generally the council, and many parks do not allow cooking. Ask them first, and tell us what they say.

What’s the nearest station to Hammersmith?

Kensington Olympia station, about 0.8 miles east of the centre.

What about staff who don’t eat pork?

There are lamb, chicken, vegetarian and vegan options: spit-roast lamb, rotisserie chicken, halloumi and vegetable skewers or a vegan burger or sausage. We don’t offer halal meat.

What do you need from us on the day?

The agreed cooking area, access for our equipment and someone to meet us. We bring everything else.

How long does a hog roast take to cook?

It depends on the size of the hog and the weather, but it’s several hours. We’ll confirm our arrival time when we quote.

Do we need our own staff?

You do not need anyone else: our chef carves and our team serves and clears.

Will there be enough to go round?

We plan quantities from the numbers you give us, and we will talk it through when we quote.

Do we need to provide electricity?

Cooking is gas-fired, so no mains power is needed for the roast. A socket nearby is useful for lighting.

The process

On the day, we set up the roaster on the agreed spot, put the cover up and start the roast. From there it cooks low and slow for hours, worked back from your serving time. For a staff lunch in Hammersmith, daylight is not an issue, but a winter evening event is dark by about 3:55pm, so plan lighting for later events. A summer after-work event has daylight until about 9:20pm.

  1. Send us the site, date, numbers and break time.
  2. We check access and gas rules and quote.
  3. The roast starts early on site.
  4. We serve within your break.
  5. We pack away and go.

Getting ready for the day

  • Ask about allergies and dietary needs beforehand
  • Let us know about tight access
  • Plan somewhere sheltered for people to eat if it rains

A closer look at the menu

Crackling

For many people, the crackling is the best bit: crisp, golden and full of flavour.

Roast pork

Slow-roasted pork is the heart of the menu: carved in front of you, a mix of shoulder and leg, and served hot.

For planners, venues and organisers

If you’re booking for a workplace, ask your facilities team about outside caterers and gas cooking. We work to the site’s rules.

Event organisers often ask caterers for paperwork such as a risk assessment. Let us know what your event requires and we will confirm what we can provide.

Allergies and dietary needs

You’ll get allergen information for everything we serve. To make the most of it:

  • Find out how many do not eat pork, so we can bring chicken, lamb or vegetarian options
  • Stuffing generally contains gluten, so check the allergen list
  • Keep alternatives clearly labelled
  • Request gluten-free rolls

Give us a contact on site for the day, so we can find you quickly.

Add sides for a bigger lunch.

Space, access and the venue

Most gardens, car parks, yards and fields work with a little planning. Here’s what helps:

  • A covered area or canteen for wet weather
  • A safe distance from walls and vehicles
  • A named contact for the day

As a London location, Hammersmith is inside the Ultra Low Emission Zone, and access takes planning: let us know how we reach the cooking spot and where we can park.

If in doubt, send us a picture of the spot and we will advise.

Catered or do it yourself?

Roasting a whole hog yourself is possible, but it takes hours of attention, from early set-up to carving at the end. With us catering, you get to be a host, not a cook.

A DIY hog roast suits a relaxed party where someone enjoys cooking. For weddings and bigger events, a catered roast is generally easier.

  • Roasted on site for several hours, outdoors under cover
  • Our chef carves the pork, with stuffing, apple sauce and crackling on the side
  • Lamb, chicken and vegetarian options alongside the pork
  • Staff to serve at the agreed time, then clear away
