Wedding hog roast in Ham, carved to order

Your venue and we agree the cooking spot and timings, so nothing is left to chance. We are frequently asked to cater late-night wedding food and blessings and renewals, serving halloumi skewers, rotisserie chicken and new potatoes.

In Ham, venues set rules on outside caterers and gas cooking. Ask about a courtyard or garden, and we will agree the details with them. The carving happens right in front of your guests, so every roll gets hot pork and a piece of crackling.

Common questions in Ham

What’s the nearest station to Ham?

The closest is Teddington station, roughly 1.2 miles away.

Can you do a hog roast in Sudbrook Park?

Only with permission from the park’s owner, generally the council, and many parks do not allow cooking. Ask them first, and tell us what they say.

What if things run late?

Within reason, we can. Give us a contact on the day and we will adjust.

How do we prepare?

Just the agreed spot and a contact on the day. We bring the roaster, cover and serving kit.

What comes with the hog roast?

Pork, stuffing, apple sauce and crackling in a soft roll. Your quote lists any sides and extras.

Does the roaster have to be outside?

No, the roast is always cooked outdoors under cover, at a safe distance from walls and tents. Serving inside is often possible, with the venue’s agreement.

Can we just hire the roaster?

Yes, for confident cooks. Ask and we’ll talk you through it.

Who serves?

No need for your own staff: our chef carves and our team serves and clears.

Full catering or machine hire?

Catered or DIY? Catered means we do everything: roasting, carving, serving and clearing. With DIY hire, you do the work and save on staffing.

Some hosts try a barbecue instead, but someone ends up cooking in batches all afternoon. A hog roast cooks in one go and is carved for everyone.

What a hog roast costs

We work out each quote from:

  • Crockery choices
  • Time on site
  • Distance from us
  • Access to the cooking area

A hog roast is frequently good value for a crowd, since one roast goes a long way. The menu, extras such as china and the serving time all affect the final price.

What we need to know

The more we know, the more accurate the quote. Useful details:

  • Which meats and sides you’d like
  • Any dietary needs or allergies
  • Where the event is
  • Where the roaster could go, ideally with a picture

Getting a quote is simple: tell us when, where, how many and what time you’d like to eat. We’ll reply with a clear price and what’s included. Send us your details through our quote form.

Is a hog roast right for your wedding?

Compared with a cold evening buffet, hot carved pork beats sandwiches every time. Adding lamb, chicken, extra sides or china changes the price, so each one is itemised. A simple menu keeps the cost down.

Why us?

  • No surprises: everything in writing
  • All the equipment comes with us
  • Served at the time you choose
  • Cooked on the day, low and slow

What happens on the day

We get there well ahead of service, because a whole hog takes hours to roast. The smell normally brings people over long before we carve. In Ham, midsummer sunset is about 9:20pm, and by late September it is nearer 7:05pm, so evening food is frequently carved in daylight in June and July. For autumn and winter weddings, when it is dark by about 3:55pm in December, plan lighting at the carving station.

  1. Share your date, venue, numbers and which meal you’d like.
  2. We check the venue and the cooking spot and send a price.
  3. Timings and the cooking spot are agreed with you and the venue coordinator.
  4. The hog roasts through the afternoon, and our chef carves on cue.
  5. We clear away once everyone has eaten.

Preparing for the day

  • Give us a contact number for the day
  • Confirm numbers ahead of the day
  • Ask about allergies and dietary needs beforehand

How to get a price

Not sure how many to cater for? A rough figure is fine for a first quote, and you can confirm nearer the time. Send us your details through our quote form.
