Common questions in New Malden
Can you do a hog roast in Beverley Park?
Only with permission from the park’s owner, normally the council, and many parks don’t allow cooking. Check with them first, and tell us what they say.
Which station is closest to New Malden?
New Malden station, in New Malden itself.
What do you need from us on the day?
Only the space and a contact number. Everything for roasting and serving comes with us.
Does the roaster have to be outside?
Outside, always. The food can be carried in and served indoors where the venue allows.
Will there be enough to go round?
Quantities are based on your numbers, and we will talk it through when we quote.
Can you set up at the unit base?
At base, on level ground. We will agree it with your location manager.
Can you do gluten-free?
Ask for gluten-free rolls and we’ll bring them. You will get allergen details for everything.
Do you have documents for locations?
Every production is different.
A closer look at the menu
Salads, potatoes and coleslaw
Salads, new potatoes, coleslaw and roast or jacket potatoes turn rolls into a full meal, especially at a sit-down event.
Crackling
Crackling takes hours to get right, and a whole hog roasted slowly gets it just right.
A hog roast compared with other options
Next to shop-bought sandwiches, a hot hog roast keeps morale up. The price depends on numbers, the menu and how long we serve, along with distance and how easy the site is. There’s no one-size price, which is why each one gets its own quote.
What you get with us
- All the equipment comes with us
- No surprises: everything in writing
- Fresh carving at the serving station
- Timed around your day

How it works
On the day, we set up the roaster on the agreed spot, put the cover up and start the roast. From there it cooks low and slow for hours, timed so it is ready when you want to eat. In December, daylight in New Malden ends around 3:55pm, so the unit base needs lighting for late service. In summer, light lasts until about 9:20pm.
- Share the location details.
- We confirm where we set up.
- We roast under cover at base.

What the cooking area needs
A hog roast cooks outdoors for hours, so the spot matters, so a few things are worth checking:
- Clearance from trucks, kit and trees
- A named contact at base
- Approval from locations
As a London location, New Malden is inside the Ultra Low Emission Zone, and access takes planning: tell us about side or rear access, steps and parking for our vehicle.
Not sure about the cooking spot? Send us a picture and we’ll tell you honestly before booking.

How we price a hog roast for the crew
We don’t use a fixed price list, since every event is different. What matters most:
- Site access
- How long the roast and service take
- Numbers
- Distance from us
Most of the cost is the meat, the staff and the time on site. A long, slow roast means an early start, and the quote reflects that.
Getting an accurate quote
Here’s what we will ask:
- A picture of the cooking area
- Rough numbers
- Rules from the venue or landowner
- Allergies we should know about
We need a few details to quote: the date and serving time, the venue or KT3 postcode, rough numbers and which extras you’d like. Use our quote form.
